Born in 1986 in Belgrade, Stojan Krkuleski studied clarinet under Ante Grgin at the University of the Arts in Belgrade and under François Benda at the FHNW Academy of Music in Basel.
He has enjoyed success in numerous international competitions, including the Marco Fiorindo in Turin, Jeunesses Musicales in Belgrade and the ARD International Music Competition. Krkuleski gained orchestral experience with the Serbian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Opera Orchestra of the National Theatre in Belgrade, and as an intern with the Bern Symphony Orchestra. He was appointed solo clarinettist with the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra in May 2014 and is a member of the audition committee.
In addition to recitals, Stojan Krkuleski has appeared as a soloist with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Munich Chamber Orchestra, the Sarajevo Philharmonic Orchestra and the Basel Chamber Orchestra. He has attended master classes by Gottfried Johannes Pokorny, Mate Bekavac, Paul Meyer and François Benda and has worked with renowned conductors including Bernard Haitink, Andrey Borenko and Mario Venzago.
In his spare time, he enjoys skiing, cycling and swimming, as well as cooking and travelling.
